Limagne des Buttes and Allier Trail Run

Description

Go for a long run starting at the La Pardieu tram stop! This 31-km trail run winds through the Limagne des Buttes region all the way to the banks of the Allier River. It’s a smooth route with gradual climbs that offers sweeping panoramic views.

The Long Running Loop in Eastern Clermont, Between the Hills of Limagne and the Val d'Allier

Directly accessible by public transit from the train station and the La Pardieu tram stop, this 31-km route is ideal for an endurance trail training session or a long run in the great outdoors.

Highlights of the route:
• A very smooth profile: With gentle terrain (+223 m of elevation gain spread over 31 km) and gradual climbs, this is the perfect circuit for working on speed, pace, and distance without significant technical challenges.
• 100% accessible by public transit: Easy access to the start and finish from Tram Line A or the La Pardieu TER station (as well as the Cendre or Cournon stations).
• Varied landscapes: Cross the Limagne plain, skirt the volcanic hills east of Clermont-Ferrand, and enjoy a picturesque break along the Allier River (Cournon Lake, Coulée Verte du Cendre).
