On this walk, you'll wind your way through the shade of the trees before enjoying a breathtaking view of the Puy-de-Dôme. This relatively easy, flat trail is suitable for families and beginners.

L'Escapad'

Located in the heart of the village of St Genès Champanelle, 15 kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand, this green leisure center is the starting point for a wide range of sporting activities, as well as providing information and access to outdoor activities.L'Escapad' is a reception and information center for outdoor activities (hiking, mountain biking, Nordic walking, etc.). A starting, stopping-off or finishing point for a wide range of sporting activities. Touch-screen tourist information and itinerary table (hiking maps available and GPX tracks to download). Permanent sports and family orienteering course (with questionnaire). Nature Escape Game. L'Escapad' offers a place to change and shower, an out-of-bag room for meals and an outdoor picnic area. Accessible sanitary facilities for people with reduced mobility. Meeting and seminar facilities, including multi-purpose room rental. Equestrian center and wetland with educational explanations in the immediate vicinity. School groups welcome all year round.

Road access to L'Escapad' - 1 chemin du Château - 63122 Saint-Genès-Champanelle Le Bourg.
From Clermont-Ferrand, take the N89 via Beaumont, Ceyrat, Saulzet-Le-Chaud then Theix.
Continue on the D90 to Saint-Genès-Champanelle Le Bourg or via Royat, Charade, Manson then Thèdes (D90).

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

From Escapad', walk behind the church and take the crosswalk. Go around the town hall to the left, then take the path by the fire station and sports complex.
At the road, turn left towards "Fontfreyde".
At the traffic circle, turn left, then take the second street on the right, "Rue des Pins". At the end of the street, take the path down to the left.
When you reach the road, cross it and turn right twice, direction "Laschamps".
After the farm, take the small track on the right, into the woods.
At the crossroads, turn right and continue for approx. 300 m.
Turn left at the 4-way junction.
Turn right in the direction of "Beaune-le-Chaud", drive about 800 m and, at the first house, take the road on the right to reach the wash-house.
At the washhouse, turn left in the direction of "Saint-Genès-Champanelle", then right at the fountain to enter the village.
At the church, go straight on towards "Saint-Genès-Champanelle", taking the uphill path.
At the end of the climb, go back down and take the first path on the right.
Cross the road and return to l'Escapad', taking the same route as before.
