At the beginning of your walk, you can see the railway viaduct. It was built in 1846. It is made of 25 vaults and it is 275 metres long. It was partly destroyed during the Second World War by the Allies (14th of June 1944) but it was quickly rebuilt.
Before going on the path on your right, view of the former slaughterhouse of Beaugency (1864-1983). It was built instead of a chapel, that's why its shape is so strange.
After several metres on the path "chemin de la Californie", view of : Saint-Claude church in Vernon hamlet (in front of you) Saint-Sébastien church in Messas (on your right, north direction) Saint-Aignan church in Baule (north-east direction) César tower, Saint-Firmin bell-tower and Clock Tower in Beaugency (behind you)
When you arrive at the division of "rue des marais", will you manage to find the exact place in order to see the Saint-Firmin tower and the clock tower exactly as the picture ? Can you add the Cesar tower in a third arch ?
You can't miss the Cesar Tower ! This rectangular dungeon was built during the XIst century. You can find more explanations on panels at its bottom.
From the top of the "Théatre de Verdure" (=greenery theater), great view of the Loire River. The best view of the bridge is from the bottom of the slope on your right.
