GR®653 "LA VOIE D'ARLES" - DE REVEL À TOULOUSE

The GR®653 crosses 10 départements, including Haute-Garonne, over a distance of 140km. This section of Via Tolosana arrives in Toulouse via the Canal du Midi and Lauragais hills and plain.
Starting in Arles, Via Tolosana or Via Arletanensis heads towards the tomb of the Apostle James the Greater. From Camargue to Toulouse, GR®653 first follows Via Domitia, an ancient Roman road, then enters the foothills of Haut-Languedoc. This historic route runs through a vast landscape, enhanced by a rich architectural heritage. After Toulouse, GR653 crosses Gascony, northern Bigorre and Béarn. Then it enters Aspe valley and Aragon, in Spain. Voie d'Arles joins ‘el Camino frances’ at Puente-la-Reina.
