
From the forests of Correze to the viewpoint over the volcanoes and passing through the valley of the Dognon, this route takes you to explore some of the typical and remarkable landscapes of the region.Take the path that goes down behind the church. After crossing pasture land, the trail meanders through woodland undergrowth. Continue to the river and walk alongside it for 200 m. Turn right onto a sloping path, leaving the bridge on your left.At the junction, follow the left-hand path (the right-hand path leads back to the starting point), leading you to the road you will take on the left. 50 m further on, take the track on the right, which leads to a village.When you arrive in front of the first house, take the road to the right. After 700 m, cross the road and continue straight ahead. At the intersection, turn right. Follow this long track until you reach the road, which you will follow on the left. At the first crossroads, fork right towards La Bardière, then immediately left towards the cemetery. At this point, turn left. You will reach the road that you will take on the right towards the church square.
Thalamy Church
From Ussel, follow the D 45 towards Bort. Then the D 138 towards St-Exupéry. Continue on the D 138 to reach Thalamy via St-Bonnet.
This journey into the past will start just below the church at Thalamy. Indeed, in the Middle Ages, this building, steeped in history, was under the protection of the Order of Malta. Follow in the footsteps of these warrior monks along the picturesque paths that border the tumultuous waters of the Dognon, in the heart of a protected natural area.
