Hike Vallon du Mont Noir

Walk in the woods up the Mont Noir valley.

This walk through the woods will take you to the bottom of a secret and special valley: the Mont Noir valley. After Notre Dame des Fontaines, park your vehicle at the first hairpin you come across, point 890 on the IGN map. A track and a bridge allow you to cross to a clearing. The path heads left just before this clearing, at beacon 264. Follow the path. After a climb, the path follows the level curve up to beacon 267. You then arrive at the heart of the valley. Pay attention to the spring and the water flow which can be significant. In summer huge steps of rocks are exposed. Climbing this environment, which is close to the canyon, without supervision is strongly discouraged.
