Hiking Breil sur Roya - Piène Haute
Beautiful itinerary in balcony in the land of olive trees, above the Roya to Piène Haute
20 meters after the lower bridge of the Roya, to the right, take the GR (B2). In the climb, leave the GR and take left "Piène-Haute direct": charming descent in pines, junipers and strawberries... After a stream, an ascent in the shade of the pines leads to Piène Haute (glimpse on the ridge on the way). The finish (610 m) offers an exceptional view of the sea and the mountains! The return is done by the same route.
A variant linking Piène Haute to Sospel can be considered with a return to Breil by train. Be careful to allow 5 hours for the outbound journey and inquire for the return train.
