À l’origine agricole, ce village au cœur de la Vallée de la Blanche, est maintenant axé en grande partie sur le tourisme. Chabanon et sa station de ski familiale, est aussi agréable l’été que l’hiver.Sous protection Natura 2000, sa profonde forêt et ses pâturages abritent une faune et une flore exceptionnelles.
