Notes:
- The route passes close to a private wildlife park: keep dogs on a lead.
- Water points on Allées Paul Marty and at the Saint Colombe Chapel cemetery.
- Dangerous junction after point 4, on reaching the D38e road.
- Few shaded areas.
Start: Allées Paul Marty, opposite the War Memorial.
Practical advice for horse riders:
A section suitable for galloping between (2) and (3): 1.5 km along the Visenc stream.
Before (1) and between (3) and (5): yellow; between (1) and (3) and between (5) and (1): white and red (GR 653)
- Walk along the esplanade (Allées Paul Marty). After the large co-operative building, turn left. Continue until you reach the junction with the Grand Rue.
-
- From point (2), leave the red-and-white GR markings and turn right onto a grassy path that leads downhill. Follow it for 350 m, then walk alongside a property. At the road, turn right until you reach the junction (with a view of the Aéropostale lighthouse on your right), then follow the main route from point (4) to continue the loop.
- Continue straight ahead along the grassy path for 1.5 km (view of the Sainte Colombe chapel). At the junction with the tarmac road, turn right to reach the chapel. Walk past the oratory, then turn left onto the tarmac road which climbs for 450 m. At the crossroads, turn right onto the grassy path and head down to the bottom of the valley. At the junction of the paths, by the poplars, cross the stream and walk up the hill to the road.
- Carry on straight ahead until you reach the D38e road (dangerous junction). Follow it for 50 metres towards Baziège, then turn immediately right onto the Chemin de Monteserre. At the top of the hill, turn right onto the grassy path that runs alongside the wildlife park and carry on to the junction.
- Turn left and walk for 75 metres, then follow the red and white GR markings again, and turn left to head back down towards Baziège. Cross the Grand Rue, then continue straight ahead until you reach the tree-lined avenue with its shady plane trees. Turn right to return to the starting point.
