From Tourist Information, walk to the village of Le Praz past the Hôtel des Peupliers up to the chapel.
Go straight on then turn right onto Rue de la Culaz.
After you’ve walked around a bend past the school, go along the dirt path across the meadows. Cross the main road a little further along and go back down to Saint Bon’s first houses.
Take the first path on the left (Chemin du Paradis) in the village. Walk past the meadows into the forest; at every crossroads continue straight on until you come out onto a short steep slope to the hamlet of Freney.
Take the road on the left in the hamlet then, at the first hairpin turn, continue straight on. After you’ve come out onto the road, continue for a few hundred metres until you come out at Le Praz ski jumps.
THE OLYMPIC SKI JUMPING VENUE
Le Praz Plateau was chosen to host the ski jump and Nordic combined competitions at the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games. Two ski jumps were built for the occasion: one measuring 120m and the other 90m. Previously there had been a 40m ski jump on this site used for the Grand Prix in the interwar period. The site has now been developed and has two additional 60m and 25m ski jumps and a gym called L’Envolée.
Take the road on the right up to the hamlet of La Nouvaz. Walk up to the top of the hamlet and along the forest path. At the first intersection, turn right; at the next intersection, turn left and you’ll end up near the La Tania chalets.
Continue a few metres on the left until you reach La Tania ski lift terminal then go left on a mountain path to come out at Chalet du Tal. Cross the road and go on the slightly steep uphill path opposite to go back down to the nearby Olympic ski jumps.
