Description

One of the 12 waymarked ski-touring itineraries across the Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area.
35 minutes (estimated time given as an indication only)
Elevation range 180m
Distance 1.8km
From the Bel Ava trail to the Col du Jaillet trail

Far from the downhill ski slopes, in a quiet, unspoilt setting, you'll benefit from the safety of waymarked ski-touring trails. This outdoor sport offers a real sense of freedom and spectacular surroundings. Passionate ski-tourers, seasoned athletes and meditation fans, these itineraries are for you!
Some sections are shared with snowshoers and walkers.
The descent follows the groomed slopes, offering non-experts a safe way to try this discipline.
Ask for the map and any other information at the cash desks.

When to go ski-touring?
The trails are accessible during the ski area opening period and, like the slopes, from 9am to 4.30pm.
For safety reasons, it is forbidden by municipal decree to use the ski-touring trails at night when the ski area is closed.
The winch cables of the snow groomers working on the trails at night are difficult to see and can cause fatal accidents.
Outside opening hours, it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to enter the ski area.

A few safety rules:
In the event of an accident, call 112.
Waymarkers are yellow on ski-touring trails and purple for snowshoeing.
To guide you, call upon the services of an instructor from one of the ski schools present within the ski area. Equipment can be rented from the sports shops.
Some recommendations:
- Make sure you have suitable equipment.
- When choosing your route, take into account your physical ability, the weather conditions, and the time available.
- You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others.
- Never go alone and make sure somebody knows your intended route.
- Be mindful of nature and the tranquillity of the site.
- Check the avalanche risk before you leave.
The presence of a mountain guide is strongly recommended. Remember to keep a close eye on the snow and weather conditions. Take an avalanche transceiver, a shovel and a probe with you. Every detail matters in the mountains. You must always have the right equipment in your rucksack, and there is always some degree of risk.
When following a ski slope, it is strongly recommended to stay on the right, as close as possible to the waymarkers.

Where to rent touring skis?
In any of the resort's sports shops!
Don't hesitate to ask the staff for advice, they are there to help you.

Novice?
Enquire at the ski schools present across the ski area. Their enthusiastic experts will be delighted to introduce you to this discipline.

The Portes du Mont-Blanc staff prepare, mark out and secure the trails for the benefit of ski-touring enthusiasts, and carry out rescue operations when necessary.
This heavy involvement by Les Portes du Mont-Blanc represents considerable effort and longterm investment to allow nature lovers to continue following these beautiful ski-touring itineraries. This is why users are kindly requested to make a contribution of €5 per day or €50 for the whole season. Passes are available only at the desks. One price only for all age groups. Each purchase is rewarded with a gift.

You must have a pass to use the ski lifts. Combloux Rando Passes can be purchased for use of the Beauregard, Pertuis and Jouty chairlifts (one ride on each).
Free parking. Specific parking facilities are available at the start of the Jaillet trails: Fouettaz and Maisonneuve car parks in the town of Demi-Quartier.

Snow showing Itinerary:Pierrot du Col

From the top of the Jaillet gondola to the summit of Christomet, this trail offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Aravis mountains to Mont-Blanc.Combloux village and its ski area "Les Portes du Mont Blanc" offers already a large choice of alpine disciplines... And now they are going one step (or slide!) further by offering to mountain fanatics new ski touring routes! ... When to go? All day long...from the slopes opening to their closing. And to go back down? Several slopes possible: the blue slope 'La Croix' for a last forest journey, the red run 'Les Ambourzalles' for sliding pleasure, or if you are playful, you could also be tempted by the 'Blaireau' black slope.....or even the Boarder cross! What if I am a beginner? Contact the French Ski School (ESF) to discover the joys of ski touring with a professional at your side. Want to go higher or further? Ski touring pass 13€. One way up Beauregard, Pertuis and Jouty chairlifts to reach Croisse-Baulet, an off-piste, not secured and not marked itinerary. The presence of a ski instructor or a mountain guide is highly recommended, particularly when considering an excursion into an 'off-piste' area. Pay close attention to the snow conditions and weather forecasts. Do not forget to take with you an avalanche transceiver (Arva in french), a snow shovel and a probe. Before going, tell someone where you are planning to go. In mountain, each detail has its own importance. Even if the Crève Cœur itinerary is marked, secured and in an area where the avalanche risk is non-existent, make sure you have all the necessary equipment in your backpack. When you are climbing along ski slopes, please stick to the right hand side, and be aware of those around you.
