Walk of the Saint-Pierre Chapel in Ax

From the car park, head towards the war memorial and then turn left onto Route du Quercy. Walk past the cemetery and continue for 700 metres until you reach the first junction.

Turn left onto Chemin Marianne and walk around the farm. After 300 metres, at the edge of the woods, take the path on the right which leads down to the Sérène stream.

Continue straight on for 500 m until you reach the tarmac road, then turn left and follow the road for about 150 m until you reach the Chaloupy crossroads.

A lovely view awaits you. Turn right and walk for 1 km, passing the Bonnet farm. Continue straight on for 350 m until you reach the woodland, then take the path that descends to the right for 100 m to reach the Saint-Pierre d'Ax Chapel.

Explore the chapel by walking around it (it is only open on Sundays from Easter to All Saints' Day, from 10am to 6pm). Retrace your steps and stay on the road for 1.2 km.

Take the grassy path on the left, running alongside the copse. Walk for 900 metres alongside the Bois des Faux. On your left, you’ll see the ponds and a dovecote perched on top of the hill. Then take the path on the right for 700 metres until you reach the road.

Turn left, then after 200 metres, take the path leading downhill to the right. Continue to the junction and turn left. You are now on the GR65 (marked in red and white), the Way of St James; follow it for 1 km to your destination.
