This trail, which passes through varied surroundings, will take you to the sites of three nearby abbeys: Mont-Saint-Eloi, Etrun and Maroeuil. There you will discover some ruins that managed to survive the destruction of the revolution.
The trail is certified by the French Federation of Hiking (FFRP).
Head down the street to the left of the square, opposite the spires of Mont-Saint-Eloi Abbey.
Take care crossing the RD341! Head down the lane on the other side.
When you come to the top of the hill overlooking the hamlet of Bray, take a left.
Walk along the earth rampart of the old settlement of Mont-César.
After walking along the walls of Etrun Abbey, the route takes you across marshland, where some of the trails can be muddy.
Take a left behind the church: you are now at the heart of what was once Maroeuil Abbey.
Don’t take the same street you walked down on the way there, but instead take a path to your left.
Take care crossing the RD341! Take the path that climbs a few metres on the opposite side.
