Sentier La Montagne par Saint-Cyr-les-Vignes

Open by appointment only.According to the land register, the chapel’s plot is semi-circular on the southern side and was the site of an ancient stone circle called "Korn", a former site of worship. It is said that Saint-Pierre de Montmeyn Chapel was built by Renaud de Montrond on his return from the Crusades in 1324. Up until the Revolution, the building did not have any owners : no diocese, no monastery, no individual. Today, the Association des Amis de Saint-Pierre watch over this chapel.

The church houses a headstone by Claude de Foy (for the widow of a former archbishop).Impressive 19th century church. Neo-Gothic 19th century building in two sections: 1st section: apse, transept and the beginning of a flagged floor nave. 2nd section built around 1880: the rest of the nave and bell tower with a large 1604 bell (registered as a Monument Historique) and small 1825 bell tower.

This gite is part of the owner' s farm. It has a separate entrance up and is comprised of a kitchen area, bathroom, toilet and bedroom. (second bedroom available).

Situated on the former N 89 main road from Lyons to Montbrison, the village of Bellegarde en-Forez owes its name to the privileged position it occupies at the mouth of the Anzieux valley.A curious low chapel was built there on a mound overlooking the Anzieux valley and the hamlet of Charaites: Saint-Pierre de Montmeyn. A major figure of history was born in 1759 in Bellegarde-en-Forez : Claude Javogue, a famous revolutionary. The door of the house where he was born is listed.
