The trail starts at the end of the paved road, in the place called « La pointe du jour » above Singuigneret. It starts off climbing through the meadows then it crosses a slate quarry. Just after two hairpin bends, it leads to the pasture of Mizoën: the refuge is right there. On your way, observe the wide variety of alpine flowers in June and July, and with a bit of luck, you will also come across shepherds looking after several thousand sheep, Emparis being for centuries one of the most renowned pastures in France. For those who practice mountain biking, access is by the pastoral road of the Plateau of Emparis (about 8km), where you can also drive with a suitable vehicle with dry and clear weather.
