Montagnol forest discovery path

Description

An ocean of greenery near the granitic plateau of the Sidobre, the Montagnol forest is home to a rich procession of flora and fauna. This natural heritage was for a long time the setting of the religious wars.

In this forest you’ll find the last rocks of the Sidobre before arriving in the Lacaune mountains. This path was set up by the French National Forestry Office and offers educational panels and discovery walks.

Départ

La maison de la forêt se situe sur la D155 au milieu de la forêt de Montagnol. Prendre de l'autre côté de la route le chemin qui s'enfonce dans les bois. Suivre le premier sentier à droite, puis à gauche et à droite jusqu'à la route. Continuer en face jusqu'à la piste forestière.

Bifurcation de deux sentiers

Bifurcation avec la randonnée de la forêt de Montagnol. Suivre cette piste sur la droite. Après environ 500 mètres, prendre le premier sentier (jonction des deux sentiers) qui monte à droite et serpente dans les bois avant de rejoindre le parking.
