L’Echappée verte, an urban hiking trail
Description
4km trail through the heart of the city on the GR36. Walking along the river banks, at the foot of the cathedral and Berbie Palace, demonstrates perfectly the position of the city in relation to the river.
The Riverbank Path: Departs from the Cathedral car park and leads to the mouth of the Caussels brook, passable in any season.
At the foot of the Cathedral and the Berbie Palace, it allows you to understand the city’s location in relation to the river. Every summer, near the scow pontoon, an ephemeral garden gives a distinctive tone to the Echappée Verte.
The Wild Path: Between the Pont-Neuf and the Avenue du Loirat, the wild path is only accessible on foot for more experienced walkers (steps, fording, rocky areas) and is only feasible during the summer season. The wearing of closed shoes is recommended.
The Mouline Path: from the Avenue de Loirat to the Planques car park, the Mouline path runs along the crest of the Caussels slope, along a vast plain. This section is accessible to bikes and is an easy walk.
It is particularly suitable for families.

A trip aboard a scow – Albi Croisières
A trip on the River Tarn aboard a traditional flat-bottomed boat. Various departures from the banks of the Tarn between 11:00am and 6:00pm.‘L’Hirondelle’ and ‘Les Copains d’abord’, scows with a traditional flat bottom, cruise along the Tarn and offer passengers unexpected panoramas of Albi’s heritage and a tranquil atmosphere on the Tarn. Rio Loco, is an electric scow that has joined the fleet, with a capacity of 75 people. A commentary completes the experience. Embark on the banks of the Tarn, below the Berbie Palace and Pont-Vieux. Access via the quai Choiseul - Purchase tickets from the chalet on the banks.
Les berges du Tarn
En toutes saisons, cet endroit tranquille et coupé de la ville s'éclaire de couleurs variant avec le temps, réfléchissant sur les briques de la muraille du palais et sur les ondes du Tarn.C'est un espace de jeux avec les enfants, de pique-nique sur l'herbe, un spot de sieste à l'ombre des arbres ou en bord de rivière. Sur ces berges viennent s'amarrer les gabarres et les canoes kayak en été, au pied du Pont-vieux. Achats des billets auprès des guichets installés sur les berges. Différentes formules de découverte sont proposées. Le saviez-vous ? Construit entre 1035 et 1042, ce pont est considéré comme l'un des plus vieux de France.
