Refuge of Fournache

Chairlift for pedestrians and bikers. Open 6/7days all summer long, morning and afternoon. Within few minutes you are at 2150m above sea level, discover a unique panorama, easy walks and hikes without taking the car.Starting point for many hiking and mountain bike trails. Modern, comfortable, fast, with a high level of safety, perfectly adapted to children. Equipped with modern mountain bike gates. Find yourself directly in the heart of the fauna and flora of the Vanoise. Access to numerous refuges, summits, dams and the high-altitude restaurant-hotel Le Montana and Peyra Levrousa. Take the "Evita Carnéa" downhill mountain bike route. The downhill track is named after a plant, the snow heather. The builders of the track had to avoid it all along the route because it is a protected plant, very present in the forests of Aussois. It is a marked out itinerary (a few flat or uphill sections) of blue, playful level which alternates between existing paths, new sections with whoops/turns raised/small modules and passage on the road to the dams. Intended for the general public, sports families, occasional to expert mountain bikers. Picnic areas along the route. Itinerary served by the TSD du Grand Jeu or by the route of the dams.

Discover the Fournache refuge, overlooking the Plan d'Amont and Plan d'Aval dams at the foot of the Dent Parrachée, at an altitude of 2340m on the edge of the Vanoise National Park and on the GR5.It is primarily a stage on the tour of the glaciers of the Vanoise. The refuge was built in stone, wood and slate in the purest mountain tradition, in place of a former Alpine chalet. The wooden interior offers a modern refuge while maintaining an authentic character. It enjoys an exceptional view over Lake Plan d'Amont and Plan d'Aval.
