The Col du Jaillet
Description
Exceptional panorama on the Mont-Blanc massif.
DEPARTURE: The Plan - Parking on the left after the chapel.
ROUTE: From the Plan, take the road briefly, go through LA CRÉPINIERE to join the PONT DU MOULIN. At the intersection of the ILES, turn left towards PLANET to join the TOURBIERE DU JAILLET (mountain trail with many roots). From there, a short round trip to the COL DU JAILLET can admire the Mont Blanc massif.
Go down to AU PLAN by LE CHAR, the ALPAGE of RAMADIEU and the CRÉPINIERE: beautiful points of view on the valley in the middle of the mountain pastures.

- The panoramic view of the Mont Blanc massif.
- Characteristic landscapes of the territory: undergrowth, spruces and small alpine farms.
- Passing through the Jaillet Pass you can admire one of the only traces left by the Romans and discovered in 1963, a Roman milestone (dating between 125 and 14 BC) marked "FINES" (Latin border).

Le Jaillet Roman boundary marker
The Roman boundary marker at the Jaillet pass is one of Val d'Arly's rarest ancient remains. Together with the markers of the Petit Croisse Baulet and L'Avenaz, they offer the excuse for a themed walk open to good walkers (7 hrs walking).The boundary marker of le Jaillet, found again in 1963, was built in 74 A.D. by the Romans in order to demarcate the territories of Ceutrons and Allobroges tribes. The word "FINES", that means "limit", is carved on it. Until the 18th century, it marked the border of mountain pastures between La Giettaz and neighbouring territories. This marker, just like others, has been thrown down the slope or hidden in order to blur the border, because of conflicts and trials about the boundaries of pastures.
The Chapel of Le Plan
The chapel of Le Plan was built at the end of the 1860s at the initiative of Abbé J.M. Jiguet and the local residents. Blessed in 1870 under the protection of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the chapel is in neo-gothic style.

In Plan, winter at the foot of the ski slopes of La Giettaz; in summer at the start of hiking and mountain biking trails. Johann offers traditional and refined cuisine based on local products. Expert in organizing dream weddings in the mountains.
