The Cascade of the Dard

The Cascade of the Dard
The Cascade of the Dard

Description

A walk to get to the foot of the vertiginous waterfall Dard (70 meters high), called "veil of the bride" by the Giettois (es).

DEPARTURE: Tourism office of la Giettaz in Aravis.
Church Square. On-site parking.

From the Tourist Office, go down the small municipal road, cross the departmental road and join the PONT DU POÈTE. On the right bank of
the ARRONDINE, the path descends to the CHAPELLE DES GLIÈRES. To get to the CASCADE DU DARD, take the road and the bridge crossing the
torrent of the Arrondine. Go up and cross the departmental road with caution. Return by the same route.

POINT OF INTEREST: The waterfall of the Dard, this beautiful fall of the Nant du
Dard, surprised in his quiet race by a schistose cliff. It is poetically called "the veil of the bride", or "Stappet's waterfall". In winter it is sometimes frozen
