"The small town of La Roche-en-Ardenne sits majestically on the banks of the ‘Ourthe’ River, cutting two great forks in the deep valley as they meander through the breathtaking landscape of the surrounding hills.
Sitting high above is a fort which was a residential area as far back as the Stone Age, it then became a fortified town, a Roman fort and finally a feudal castle of French royalty. With all its rich landscapes, La Roche is the ideal base for hikers, cyclists and kayaking enthusiasts. The route described follows the markings n° 6 until the villages of ‘Maboge‘ and ‘Borzée‘ to return to ‘La Roche‘, seducing visitors with its pretty views over the ruins of the castle and the ‘Ourthe‘ valley.
