"Set off from the church in ‘Pailhe’, a village in the borough of ‘Clavier’, not far from ‘Modave’ and ‘Marchin’. Located in between forests and magnificent open spaces, you’ll be guaranteed a total change of scenery.
You will quickly cross the vast countryside of the ‘Condroz’ region and cross the wood of ‘Grand Taillis’ as well as the magnificent ‘Bois de Bassin’.
Don’t miss the highlight of this walk: the hamlet of ‘Saint-Fontaine’ and its castle, its 12th century chapel, its ponds and its ford. It’s the ideal spot to stop for a moment to appreciate the landscape. There’s something soothing and calm that emanates around this place ... Before leaving, it’s worth taking a tour of the chapel and the cemetery – a little run down but it still offers some remarkable old crosses. There’s an information panel beside the road to learn more about ‘Saint-Fontaine’ castle.
It’s a walk for all seasons, but autumn tops them all ... A really peaceful experience
