16. From One Bank to the Other Trail – Starting point: Pont-Audemer Town Hall / roundabout car park in Corneville-sur-Risle / or Manneville-sur-Risle

This route invites walkers on a journey between two riverbanks and two worlds: town and countryside, urban heritage and the discreet natural beauty of the Norman valleys.

Starting in the historic centre of Pont-Audemer, visitors are immediately immersed in the atmosphere of a remarkably preserved medieval town. Canals, half-timbered houses, winding streets and the impressive Saint-Ouen Church create a setting of exceptional charm and harmony. The tourist office offers guided tours as well as summer evening tours, providing a memorable way to discover the town. The Canel Museum, open throughout the year, is the perfect complement to this exploration of local history.

Leaving the town behind, the trail follows the curves of the landscape towards Corneville-sur-Risle and its famous Inn of the Bells, whose celebrated carillon has been ringing since the 19th century.

Nature then takes centre stage with the Lillebec Washhouse, its springs and small watercourses crossed by footbridges, before the route reaches Manneville-sur-Risle. Here, the Bonnebos Chapel houses a moving Museum of Resistance.

A generous walk where living history and the gentle charm of Normandy meet along the way.
