In Wallonia Picardy, the Grand Large of Péronnes is one of the inescapable destinations for a ride at the water’s edge. This artificial 45-hectare lake which controls the water level between the Scheldt and the Nimy-Blaton Canal constitutes a favourite setting for bicycle rides on the RAVeL (green route). This 14.4km circuit along the new canal and in the woods is ideal for families with small children, the principal section of the circuit being closed to motor traffic. Barges and boat lifts add interest to the ride all along the way. Picnic area in the vicinity.
