Chaillac Island interpretation trail

Description

The footpath is 2 km long and is situated on the largest island in the Vienne river. During the walk you will discover the marks of man on the island, as well as its natural riches. It is an easy walk interspersed with interactive panels unveiling the secrets of this part of the island, and maybe the chance to see the white-throated dipper, visible during their migration in autumn and winter. Today, the island belongs to the Communauté de Communes and two farms have been set up here with market gardening, cattle.
The trail starts upstream of the island. On leaving Saint-Junien, the car park is on the left, on the Route Nationale 141.
