A hike alternating between forest paths, mountain pastures, scree slopes and a lake, leading to the Lac des Chambres at the foot of the Pointe Rousse. This alpine lake, fed by a glacier, offers a timeless moment in an exceptional setting.
The magnificent Lac des Chambres hike will take you to one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Haute-Savoie.
While the climb requires a certain amount of physical effort, the reward at the summit is worthy of the effort. On the way up to this alpine lake of glacial origin, you'll have to negotiate footbridges and forests, as well as Alpine paths.
On your way up, you'll also pass close to the Jean-Bernard chasm, a popular spot for speleologists. From the Folly mountain hut, contemplate the view over the Giffre valley, the Pointe du Tuet, the Oddaz mountain, the Pointe de la Golette and the Pointe Rousse.
At Lac des Chambres you can enjoy views of Pointe Rousse, Col des Chambres, Pointe de Bellegarde, Avoudrues and the Couarra rocks.
From 15/05 to 01/11 daily.
Subject to favorable snow and weather conditions.
