A lovely walk in the direction of La Bombardellaz shelter, passing by one of the few lakes in the Aravis mountains. The combes of Pacally and Tardevant give the site a feel of the wilderness. However ensure you set out early if you want to make the most of the peace and quiet.
Departing from l'Arpettaz, just a stone's throw from the Lac des Confins, the route takes you up one of the prettiest combes in the Aravis range.
All along the way, you'll be able to take in numerous views of the surrounding peaks. On this side of the Aravis, you'll find yourself in an ideal vantage point for observing the Mont Lachat in Le Grand Bornand, with the Massif du Bargy and the Pic de Jallouvre in the background.
On the way up to Lac de Tardevant, you'll pass through a variety of landscapes, including alpine pastures, forests, rocky outcrops and grassy valleys.
At the end of this challenging ascent, the lake reveals itself, nestled beneath the cliffs of the Rochers de Salla. Observe the beautiful cliffs on either side, with their superimposed strata, vertical folds, plunges and faults.
On the way back down, don't hesitate to take a break at the Refuge de la Bombardellaz, with its lovely view over the Vallée du Bouchet, before returning to Les Confins.
