Discover the surroundings of the Château de Faverges, a 13th-century landmark that bears witness to past conflicts between the House of Savoy and the House of Geneva for control of Faucigny, and to the strategic position occupied by the seigneury of Faverges in this feudal opposition.
The route initially skirts the foothills of the Crêt de Chambellon. After a short, easy climb, you'll be able to admire a beautiful panorama, nestled on this island overlooking the plain of the Sources du Lac d'Annecy.
Take time to contemplate the long ridges of the Massif des Bauges on one side, descending from Arcalod and Trélod towards Doussard; on the other, the southern part of the Aravis with Mont Charvin. The whole of the Faverges plain stretches out before your eyes, and the view of the Château and its distinctive keep is breathtaking.

Location complements
Access (by car): Coming from Annecy on the D1508, follow signs for Faverges center, then for Ugine / Albertville. After about 100 m, park on the right in front of the Communauté de Communes headquarters.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
1/ Start: Parking de la Communauté de Communes des Sources du lac d'Annecy
2/ From the parking lot, head for Rue des Fabriqués, where you'll find a sign on the corner. Follow the signs.
3/ At the end of the street, turn left onto Route du Thovey.
4/ Barely 100m after taking the route du Thovey, leave it to take a path on your right, the chemin de la Grande Biolle.
5/ At the intersection, go straight ahead and leave the path on your right.
6/ You will soon come to a hamlet. Cross it, and a few hundred metres further on, keep your eyes peeled for the signpost "Chemin Chez Saillet" on your right. Follow the signs for "Vercheres".
7/ From "Vercheres" continue towards "Crêt de Chambellon (Le Puits)".
8/ From "Crêt de Chambellon (Le Puits)" continue towards "Faverges", passing the following signposts: "Chambellon" and "Chambellon (hameau)" before reaching the Château de Faverges.
9/ From the château, take the winding path down to rue des Fabriqués and your departure parking lot.
