Description

This essential itinerary in the Vésubie valley takes place alongside the Boréon mountain stream, in the refreshing shade of a larch forest and leads you to the peaceful Lac de Trécolpas.

From the carpark, take the forest track which heads to the refuge at La Cougourde. At marker 421, continue along the path towards La Cougourde, passing close to the chalet Vidron (marker 422). 
Cross the Peïrastrèche Bridge. At marker 425, turn left until you reach the refuge at La Cougourde. From there, turn right onto the path which leads to Lac de Trécolpas (marker 426). 
Cross a final rock bar (marker 427) before arriving at Lac de Trécolpas. Head back down GR52 to get back to the upper carpark at Boréon.

Ambiance

After a pleasant walk through the forest, get ready to be surprised when you discover this lake with its very characterful islet, which has previously been hidden by a glacial rock bar.

Access

From Saint-Martin-Vésubie, go to Boréon (D2565 then D89). Once you have gone past the lake, turn right onto the D189 towards the Boréon cow barns. Go past the first carpark and park a little further along at the upper carpark.
