Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
1/ Departure: Entrance to the village. Follow the D17 towards Varennes-sur-Morge (rest area).
2/ At the green gate, turn right to reach the pontoon, then turn left to follow the river as marked by the trees. You'll come to a poplar plantation, which you follow until you come out on the road leading to the entrance to Varennes. At the Croix du Creux, cross the D211 before the bridge. Drive along a wall, leaving the rest area on your right, and continue along rue de la grotte as far as Les entraves. Leave rue du Rossignol and continue along rue du Creux. Turn left, passing the church. Walk straight on until you reach the Maison des Associations, then turn left. At the end of the street, turn right, cross the rest area and take the footbridge.
3/ Cross the D425, then turn right at the stone cross.
4/ Cross the D211 and take the Chemin du Cheix opposite. Continue along the river, leaving all the paths leading off to the left.
5/ At the Martres-sur-Morge rest area, continue as far as the Saint-Roch cross. Turn right onto route de Sardon. On the right, a millstream bears witness to a former milling activity. Return to the starting point.
