Visé : Walk of Cherry blossom in the country of orchards (31 km loop)
Description
The "Cherry Tree Walk" takes you on a 31km walk over almost flat terrain in the Mosan valley. It passes by the natural sites of the Brock gravel pit (Hermalle-sous-Argenteau) or the Montagne Saint-Pierre, but also by the Fort of Eben-Emael and the lock of Lanaye. Follow the "Arrow + Cherry" signs.

Visé, a sweet little Mosane town in the province of Liège, is halfway between La Cité Ardente (The Fiery City, Liège's nickname) and Maastricht, its Dutch neighbour. Fort d'Eben-Emael
This gigantic 75 hectare complex, with 3 levels was deemed to be one of the biggest and most powerful forts. The surprise attack on the fort of Eben-Emael on 10th May 1940 signalled the start of the German offensive in Western Europe and marked the dramatic start of the Second World War for Belgium. The guided tour will allow you to experience the history of the fort and its tragic events. You will also discover the fort’s tunnels and artillery bunker.
