A pleasant hike up to the famous cable car or simply to enjoy the fabulous views.
A pleasant stroll under the cool spruce trees, where you'll enjoy the sweet scent of the forest, maybe come across some squirrels (but shhh) before arriving at the Chanton for a magnificent panorama.

You can park in our Montchavin car parks.
From there, take the main street of Montchavin, as soon as you arrive in front of the Dos Rond restaurant, turn right down the alleyway, then left again, then right, and you'll arrive at the Place de l'Etoile, where the walk starts.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
Start from Place de l'Etoile in Montchavin
1/ Follow the path going towards Montchavin chairlift
2/ Walk up the trail that goes past Espace Paradisio to "Le Replat" (telephone relay)
3/ Follow the small road for 50m then turn left onto a path that climbs in the forest and brings you under the cable car cable
4/ At a small junction, turn right to keep going up. After a few switchbacks you come to the cable car station
5/ If it is open, you can take the Vanoise Express to the village of Peisey (return trip)
6/ On the way back, take the path down through the houses. It follows a pretty knoll and comes out at a ruined chalet
7/ Go left to the reservoir then Les Coches ice rink.
8/ You can go back down to Montchavin on Les Coches gondola or on the Telebufette
9/ When you come out, go towards the circus tent to go through the tunnel and follow the small asphalt road.
