A trail that gives you an opportunity to discover "le Bief", a reach that used to carry water to irrigate the "montagnettes". This is a pleasant, relaxing walk with wonderful views over the valley and Mont Blanc.
In the shade of fir and spruce trees, follow the route of this old reach, imagining the ingenuity that our ancestors used to lead the water from the mountain streams to these hillocks.
A little history: a reach could be dug into earth and rock or made with wooden planks supported by beams attached to the mountainside.
You can see some of these if you take another footpath: "Montchavin-Les Coches via Praz Salvard"

Children aged 7 or 8 will be able to do the walk to Le Chanton. Walking in the cool spruce wood is really relaxing.
Starting from Les Coches, go to Orgère car park.
1/ From there, go off to the right to Crévaillet and after 2 hairpin bends you will come to a large clearing, the starting point for a themed walk (information table (P)).
2/ The path climbs gently to the left, crossing over the ski runs 4 times before arriving in Le Chanton.
3/ From there, you can return to Les Coches on a small asphalt road, going past the Vanoise Express towards Orgère
If you continue on the trail
4/You can also keep on walking towards Fontaine Froid and then along a forest track ahead of you, leaving the path that climbs to the hamlet of Les Bauches where there are other lovely walks to enjoy.
5/ In this case, you take the same route back to Le Chanton.
