Description
Boucle du Praz Bassoux is an hiking path where you will discover the height of Vougy with its mountain pastures, its forest and its point of views (Arve valley)
It is adapted for children and adults
This hike crosses the alpine pastures and offers you different viewpoints, it extends over two communes: Vougy & Marnaz.
We advise you to take a short break at the log cabin of La Biolle (Marnaz): tables are at your disposal. In this small chalet, you will find information on the natural heritage, the birds and you will be able to benefit from a superb panorama.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step
1/Take the road of the fruit farm following the direction of Praz Bassoux then the "Rosset". You will find on your right a path which enters the forest. 2/ Continue in the direction of "Praz Bassoux". The path starts to go up (a bit steep). 3/ At the first intersection, continue on the left track which is still going up. 4/ At the second intersection, take the path which continues to go up. Once the climb is over, you will arrive in a meadow, continue on the path crossing the field. You can enjoy a clear view of the Arve valley. 6/ Pass by the chalets and continue on the path going up. Cross the cow fence and go through the field and the forest. Once you arrive on a tarred road, you are at the "Chède". 7/ Take the road towards " Biolle ". 8/ At the hairpin, leave the road and go through the field and the forest. At the signpost, continue in the direction of " Biolle ", cross the small brook and continue on the path. 9/ At the intersection, take the path which goes down. You will take a small bridge. Once you arrive at the "Biolle", you will see an oratory as well as plantations (shrubs, forest trees, fruit trees...). For more explanations on this site, you can go to the log cabin and enjoy a little break. 10/ Take the path that goes down towards " Chez Vavin ", and go forward in the forest. After this descent, you will arrive at the end of the path. 11/ Follow "Praz Bassoux par ruisseau du chêne". At the intersection, take the left path.12/ Once you reach the sign, walk along the brook in the direction of Praz-Bassoux. 13/ After the bridge, continue your walk on the left path, at the end there is a passage to access the Praz Bassoux field where you will take the same path to go back to the parking.
