On site, you will find the trail under the following name: LA VILLA
This 3.7 km route is suitable for families and takes you through the refreshing shade of the forest. Along the way, you will come across the ruins of an ancient Gallo-Roman villa, which is the main attraction of this walk.
The Grosswald Gallo-Roman villa is a hidden treasure among the trees. It is one of several villas or farms that dotted the territory of the small town of Bliesbruck, representing north-eastern Gaul and Germania. The villa served as the centre of a working farm. Discovered in 1966, it was excavated until 1982, when it was consolidated and restored. The baths were fitted with a protective cover and the underfloor heating room was rebuilt.
Take a picnic break along the way, set against a backdrop of ancient stonework and lush vegetation.
