Castle circuit

South-east of Metz lies Château de Pange, rebuilt in the 18th century on the site of a medieval fortress. Set on the edge of the village, its austere ensemble mingles with the waters of the Nied Française. Designed by architect Jean-Baptiste Louis, the château was built in 1720 by Jean-Baptiste Thomas, Seigneur de Pange. The land was made a marquisate in 1766 by Stanislas, Duke of Lorraine, and is still occupied by the Thomas de Pange family. Historic monument. Both rural and contemporary, this garden evokes the history of the 18th century estate. The impressive view of the park is one of the most beautiful in the Moselle. The memory of the ancient castle moat is evoked by the rosebushes, the perennials, the yew and box topiary along with patches of grasses and irises.
