While walking on this track, you will learn more about the layouts allowing river navigation. Long ago, navigation was allowed thanks to 6 locks, that you will discover after you went along the pond. Nowadays, they have all been replaced by a single lock called "the Great Lock", which enables navigators to cross the river faster. Built between 1962 and 1965, it is 15,70m high: there, you will enjoy the outstanding view on the ponds and canals!

Built as a reservoir for the Marne-Rhine canal, the Réchicourt-le-Château pond is divided into five basins, one of which is still used for merchant and pleasure boating. Renowned for its tourist appeal, this place welcomes you all year round and allows you to discover its rich fauna and its arboretum. The construction of the Grande Écluse, from 1962 to 1965, made it possible to replace 6 locks. This impressive structure is 15.70 m high and offers a magnificent view of the ponds. The lock is only in operation during the period of authorised navigation on the canal, from April to October.
