Cycling circuit in the Meymac region
Description
With a length of 80.5 km, this circuit follows a hilly route accentuated for the most athletic among you! It is an opportunity to put your calves to the test with the incredible scenery that makes our charming Corrèze so beautiful!
The circuit starts in Meymac (at an altitude of 650 m), at the foot of Mont Bessou. A member of the "Les Plus Beaux Détours de France" network, Meymac is a must-see destination for lovers of old stones...
The natural heritage around Meymac, gateway to the Millevaches Regional Nature Park, will not leave you unmoved: forests, pastures, peat bogs... Mount Bessou is the highest point on the Millevaches plateau, reaching an altitude of 976 metres. After a short and sportive climb up the steps of its panoramic tower, you can look out over the horizon at a symbolic altitude of 1,000 metres and observe the mountains of the Auvergne.

Meymac
Built on the edge of the Plateau de Millevaches, Meymac is one of the gems of the region, with its steep slate roofs, granite stone, a solidly built market hall and picturesque narrow streets running around a Benedictine abbey.
Lac de Séchemailles
Ce lac créé sur le ruisseau des Farges, entouré de verdure et de plages de sable, abrite truites, gardons et carpes. Sous les forêts de feuillus et de résineux, une balade agréable animé par sculptures d'art en bois, longe le lac de Séchemailles (40 ha) labellisé "Pavillon bleu d'Europe". Chapel Saint-Léonard
It is situated in the village of Barsanges. Portal sober 12th century, bell tower with two bays. Look inside a remarkable vessel from the Gallo-Roman site of Cars and reused in baptismal font. On the edge is developing a scene and deer hunting boar.
Croix monumentale
A la Saulière, remarquable croix maltaise du 15ème et 16ème siècle, à long fût. Sur l'avers : Christ en croix, au jambes croisées. Au revers : Vierge à l'enfant sculptée sur le fût et non au niveau de la croix comme habituellement.
Église Saint-Saturnin
L'église est précédée d'un clocher-porche en pierre de taille, avec trois ouvertures en arc brisé. Le premier niveau est voûté d'arêtes. Trois faces sont percées d'arcades campanaires géminées avec arcs en plein-cintre reposant sur des tailloirs et un pilastre central. Contre la façade ouest s'appuie la chapelle sud-ouest en pierre de taille, étayée par un contrefort . A côté, s'élève la sacristie plus basse que la chapelle. Chevet plat sans pignon. A partir de bases anciennes, l'édifice a été très remanié (clocher fait au 19e siècle).
