Heads and tails, north and south, beeches and ferns...these are the opposites and contrasts that set this loop apart. Let's throw in shade and sunshine...you get the picture! One minute you're in the ridges with views over the valley then the next you're in a dreamy beech forest.
From Oloron Sainte-Marie, take the direction of Aramits on the road D 919. In Aramits, turn on the right on the place Guirail, following Aventure Parc® direction. Stop at the parking's park of Aventure Parc®. From the car park head towards the Parc Aventure® and go up the dirt path on the right. Go up the Crête de Talou Gouloume. Carry on and on the way down leave the left-hand track to reach the Col d'Andillon.
Take the left-hand path on the borderland then go across a piste. Continue along this wide path then, as you enter the forest, leave it for the right-hand track. Get back onto a carriageway and reach the Col de Bugalaran.
Cross the road and go onto the path into the woods. Come out of the shaded section and, after a short but challenging slope, carry on along the ledge path among the ferns. When you reach the track, carry on the ascent on the left. Fork left at the crossroads and carry on along the track leading to Bugalaran.
There's nothing better than a viewfinder table to learn about and explore your surroundings. From the Aspe Valley to the Basque Country, this vista captures the piedmont plain and the high peaks.
A storm wiped out Aramits forests and the surroundings in 1941. An ingenious cable system enabled the uprooted trees to be transported to the saw mills. There's still a stake a few metres from the car park.
This park is the place for thrill-seekers and adrenalin junkies of all ages with 130 things to do. Treetop adventure, airbag, catapult and paintballing are just some of the fun things you can do before or after a trek!
