From “Celles”, one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia”, to “Furfooz”, the river Lesse winds and flows along the cliffs of “Chaleux”. A dramatic contrast with the great plains and peaceful villages of the Namur Condroz region.
From the centre of “Celles”, climb to the top leading to the “Ermitage”. At the top, you will have a magnificent view over the architectural harmony of the village. The small valleys of the villages of “Lavis” and “Gendron” welcome a varied flora and fauna: you tread a land of limestone, marked by meadows full of flowers. Further on towards “Gendron-Gare”, the soft murmur of the river Lesse echoes in the wood. While it was a fast flowing waterfall in the Ardennes, it seems to surrender at this point into a lazy flow. From “Chaleux”, a dead end hamlet, the route takes you to a magnificent viewpoint and to the village of “Furfooz”. Its limestone houses form an idyllic picture for this superb walk, embellished with the “Château de Vêves”, located on the edge of an undergrowth.
