Tour des Fiz - Stage 3 - Refuge de Sales > Refuge de Platé (2032m)

Description

This is a short stage. Make the most of it to recuperate, walk more slowly - your last stage will mark the ascension of the Tête du Colonney, a very pretty route at 2692 m altitude.

From the Refuge de Sales, continue due south, leaving the Passage du Dérochoir on your right.
the Dérochoir pass to your right, and continue on to the Col de Portette (2364 m).
you the Pointe de Platé (2554 m). Admire and observe this area of Lapiaz, a geological formation resembling crevasses but made of
of limestone rock. Rainwater runoff dissolves the rock, giving it its remarkable characteristics. Cross the pass and descend to the Platé refuge (2032 m).
