The cathedral was built in the 6th century, rebuilt in the 11th century and enlarged in the 15th century, the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Cathedral has in its choir magnificent Gothic stalls in walnut, all different, as well as a cloister and a crypt.Its neoclassical porch was added on in 1771 to house the tombs of three of the first princes of the House of Savoie : Humbert aux Blanches Mains (the founder), Amédée « la Queue » and Boniface « le Roland ».
