Face à l'église, partez sur votre gauche et tournez à gauche. Empruntez la Rue des Orfèvres, sur le côté de l’église et descendez à droite par la Rue Émile Wautier. En bas de la descente, prenez à gauche la Rue Solférino puis obliquez à gauche dans la Rue Magenta. Traversez le quartier des anciennes carrières de Magenta. Passez sous la RN 2 par le passage busé.

Tournez à droite puis engagez-vous dans le Chemin de Montreuil sur la gauche.Le chemin de Montreuil est l’ancienne route qui allait d’Étroeungt à l’Abbaye de Montreuil-les-Dames, à Rocquigny. Le chemin creux, bordé de haies, monte et atteint un chemin macadamisé (point de vue sur le village d’Étroeungt). Prenez à gauche sur une cinquantaine de mètres.

Virez à droite, passez devant la borne "Étroeungt-Larouillies" et empruntez alors le chemin de terre en face de vous. Sur ce chemin bocager, vous remarquerez une pierre «la Croix Petit», érigée en 1810. Elle commémore un événement plus ancien : l’assassinat d’un manant nommé Petit par un seigneur au cours d’une partie de chasse. Passez à gué le Ru de la Fontaine Durand.

Tournez à gauche sur la route. Après avoir parcouru environ 100m sur le macadam, poursuivez à gauche par le Chemin Martin. Traversez à nouveau le Ru de la Fontaine Durand,

Tournez à gauche et traversez le hameau du Petit Bois en allant tout droit au croisement. Ce chemin en bordure de plateau qui domine sur plusieurs kilomètres la Vallée de l’Helpe Mineure offre de nombreux points de vue sur la vallée en contre-bas.
