Description

This excursion brings you up close and personal with the diverse flora and fauna of the Bois Noirs massif (over 6,000 hectares).

The forest of the Montagne Bourbonnaise now covers more than 50% of the area. The vegetation is quite dense. Its blueberries, ferns and peat bogs are frequented by Water Blackbirds and Black Woodpeckers.

Depuis le parking, prendre le chemin, au sud, qui s’enfonce dans la forêt.

Au carrefour (tourbière de Leydy, un peu plus loin tout droit sur la droite), prendre à gauche puis traverser la Besbre. Le chemin monte ensuite jusqu’à la Pierre-qui-Danse (mégalithes sur la gauche).

Continuer sur la piste qui remonte jusqu’au Col des Planchettes en traversant la Besbre qui a pris sa source quelques dizaines de mètres plus haut. Possibilité d’aller jusqu’au Puy de Montoncel à gauche via le GR®3.

Sentier d'interprétation des Bois Noirs

On a 3 km circuit, discover the natural and human environment of the Bois Noirs in the commune of Lavoine, with the help of 12 presentation panels scattered along the route.Under the cover of the fir trees, shrubs and plants grow, harboring a multitude of living creatures. Walking shoes are recommended.
