Discover the mountain pastures of Lachat d'en Haut along the recently restored Gardes and Harkis trail. Very pleasant in summer, this family-friendly walk offers spectacular panoramic views of the Aiguille de Varan and the Aravis mountains.
From the parking lot, this hike begins with a short descent to the hamlet of Hauteville, then crosses over to La Trappe.
The climb begins in the forest and follows the recently reopened "sentier des Gardes et des Harkis", a trail of remarkable heritage value.
At the end of the wide track, turn left and back to Lachat d'en Haut. This site will delight you with its panoramic view of the majestic Aiguille de Varan (2547m), the Aravis mountain range and the town of Sallanches.
Return to the starting point via the Zeta.
There are a few steep sections on the way up, but the route remains accessible to families used to mountain trails.
