Good hiking shoes are recommended, preferably waterproof. Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains, so be sure to check the forecast before planning your hike, and pack warm clothing and a waterproof jacket in your backpack.
This is a long hike with few water points, so plan accordingly.
1/ From the Cuchet car park, take the trail towards the Chalet de la Vieille, then continue to the “Alpage de Beauregard”.
2/ Take the path to the right behind the Alpage de Beauregard, heading towards the restaurant Le Cœur d'Or, then follow the direction to the summit of Les Salles.
3/Take the TPMB GR trail to reach the Col du Jaillet.
4/ At the Col du Jaillet, after the Roman marker, the trail climbs up to the Petit Croisse-Baulet, before reaching the Grand Croisse-Baulet.
5/ Descend by the same route back to the Col du Jaillet.
6/ Take the trail that climbs back up towards the summit of Les Salles.
7/ Then descend towards Le Châble / Cuchet car park.
Yes. Depending on the period, protective herds and dogs may be present freely on the route. In this case, the presence of dogs is strongly discouraged, even on a leash.
