TESTORY ET BONSOUMET
Description
Starting from the swimming pool, this walk offers a different perspective on Montesquieu-Volvestre, with a climb up to Testory that provides a panoramic view of the Pyrenees and the bastide. The loop at Bonsoumet will offer you a chance to cool off by the banks of the Arize.

STEP 1 - As you leave the La Loubère car park, turn left and take the Route de Toulouse towards Rieux-Volvestre.
STEP 2 - Take the first street on the right, Chemin du Compagnon.
STEP 3 - Turn right onto the tarmac road known as the Chemin des Hourquets; the tarmac ends, so carry on straight up the hill.
STEP 4 - When you reach an open area facing a fence, turn left, follow the fence and then the living hedge along the ridge path. Turn left to head downhill alongside a hedge on your left.
Pass by the base of a large oak tree. Head down the narrow, steep path on the right. Once you reach the woods, turn left.
After descending this short wooded path, you’ll rejoin the tarmac road to Hourquets. Take it to the right as far as point no. 3, then carry on straight ahead to the D 627.
STEP 5 - Turn left. Follow the D627 to the roundabout, then turn right. Carry on straight ahead until you reach Rue Ramon de Versinis.
STEP 6 - Turn right, then immediately left onto the Chemin du Bac de Titet.
Step 7 - After the last house, turn right and walk along the edge of the meadow. Head down to the banks of the Arize via the path through the woodland until you reach a clearing in the shade of the tall oak trees.
Walk back up along the Arize on your right until you reach the Bonzoumet path.
Step 8 - Continue along the safety barrier and, as you round the bend, take the path opposite which runs alongside the Arize (head down again to the right, along the water’s edge, at the confluence with the Darré Le Bosc stream).
Step 9 - Head slightly uphill and follow the path through the woodland until you reach the wide track along the Chemin de Bonzoumet.
Carry on straight ahead until you rejoin the D627, then turn right until you reach the car park at the starting point.
