La Tête du Parmelan depuis Bois Brûlé

This hike offers beautiful panoramic views of part of the lake, the surrounding mountains, and the Annecy metropolitan area. It also gives you the chance to explore the lapiaz—amazing limestone formations shaped by erosion.

The hike begins at the Bois Brûlé parking lot, located above Villaz.
From the parking lot, take the alpine road toward Chalet Chappuis. The ascent takes place mainly through the forest, in a shaded and peaceful setting.
At the chalet, enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Annecy and part of its lake.
The route then continues along a forest trail, mostly sheltered from the sun. After about 40 minutes of walking, you have two options:

The Grand Montoir, a more direct route, follows an exposed path that can be daunting.
The Petit Montoir, a slightly longer route, but without any particular technical difficulty and accessible to most hikers.

If you are prone to vertigo, we recommend taking the Petit Montoir.
This hike becomes technically challenging due to the lapiaz crossing; it is therefore not recommended for young children, or in wet or foggy conditions.
