This pleasant walk, marked out by 5 discovery panels, plunges you into the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. It traces the history of Les Cabannes and the builders of the Cité de Cordes, a period spanning the 13th to 15th centuries. This period was marked by the tumult of the Wars of Religion, the Hundred Years' War and epidemics, but it was also the Golden Age of pastel and prosperous traders in Cordes.
The trail leads walkers to the butte de Corrompis, where two monuments await them: the Tour Sarrasine and the church of Saint-Antoine. Finally, you'll pass through Place St-Félix, a crossroads for hikers, before returning to the starting point via the main street or a ford in the Aurausse stream.
For a fun tour, a booklet is available from the Cordes Tourist Office or Les Cabannes town hall. It can also be downloaded from the website www.lescabannes81.fr
