Le lavoir

A proximité du ruisseau du St Hussou se trouve un lavoir restauré. Ses eaux cristallines sont le révélateur d’une eau filtrée dans le karst. Les larves d’odonates côtoient celles des salamandres et des tritons palmés. Parfois, zigzagant ça et là, la couleur vipérine se met en chasse. L’absence de poissons qui pourraient se nourrir de tout ce beau monde est un gage de découverte d’une autre biodiversité.

Departure : Place Hautpoul, Cahuzac-sur-Vère.
Arrival : Same place as the start.
Road access : 22 km west of Albi via Gaillac or the D600 towards Cordes, cutting through Villeneuve-sur-Vère (D25), then Cestayrols (D3), and heading towards Cahuzac-sur-Vère.
14 km south of Cordes-sur-Ciel via the D922.
12 km north of Gaillac via the D922..
Parking recommended : At Place Hautpoul (across from the Cahuzac town hall) or at Place de Mercadial, 350 meters away. .

At the foot of the village of Cahuzac-sur-Vère, you follow the path to the Château-Musée du Cayla. You pass by Andillac and traverse the commune of Vieux. After leaving the village, you reach the place called Comberouzal and finish on a gravel path along the Vère River.
